Wake Turbulence
We all know about turbulence affecting the plane. But what is wake turbulence? How it tends to happen ?
So, this post is for those one having query regarding wake turbulence
Wake turbulence is the turbulence that occurs by the wingtip vortices and specifically the jet wash. The discharge of gases with high speed as the plane marches forward is what you called jet wash as.And basically, the wingtip vortices are the circular rings of air as it gains lift. Wake turbulence is generated by the creation of a pressure differential over the wing surface.
Wake turbulence is not so dangerous but however it tends to occur mishap frequently. Wake turbulence needs attention during take off and landing. The turbulence doesn't affect the generator plane . However, if affects the plane following backwards. The turbulence generally last for up to approximately 3 minutes.
The turbulence generally hits the small plane following the lead of larger plane like Airbus or Boeing.
