Airport Runways Explained

Have you ever wondered the markings of runways? Well, this post is for those who are enthusiastic regarding how runways are numbered.
So guys, actually the thing is earth does have a magnetic pole and the runways are marked after an angle made by magnetic pole and the runway. If the angle is 094° then in the runway it is written as 09. First of all the angle is rounded off to the nearest ten and then 0 9 is only painted on the runway. The runway heading are read separately like 0 and then 9.

For instance,  the angle 220 is written as 22. And on the opposite side, the angle is 60° and so 0 6 is painted on the next side of the runway as there is a difference of 180°. I do hope you have a query regarding the alphabets L, C, R  just near the number. Actually, they resemble left right and center in case airport consists of more than one runway.
